Conversion Rates
Your conversion rate is the number of visitors at your website that take action you recommend for them to take as step one. You may be asking them to become your newsletter subscriber or you may want them to purchase your introductory, lead in product. If you have 1000 visitors to your site and 500 of them take the next action you recommend, you have a 50% conversion rate!
Only you can determine what an acceptable conversion rate for your website is going to be. If you are tracking your visitors and their habits, and you are tracking your advertising campaigns, your conversion rates should be good. Obviously, if you are not getting enough sales (conversions) for the dollars spent, you may need better advertising tracking to see where the problem lies. You must target your traffic, write great sales copy, make your site easy to navigate and tell your prospect exactly what you expect them to do next. You can't convert traffic to sales if you don't know who you are after, what you are selling, and how to get them to follow your instructions.
Check your website today to make sure it makes conversion easy. If you have any questions or have no clue what you should be looking for on your website, call me. If you have no idea why your ads aren't working, call me. I will be glad to discuss what you may want to do to turn things around.
